This is why I do not like writing review of novellas. They are so short, what can I say?
So Fawna (yes I do feel you have to read the trilogy first) and Simon meet at a fair. Yes they know each other from before of course. She is weird and wounded and he is reckless (ha, well duh 😉 There is no love between them but there is something.
She needs to let go, and he needs to live.
Conclusion:
A short story, I do prefer the longer books as we see the world more clearly then. Still, I love this series.

I have been wondering, ok I wondered yesterday, should I mention DNFs? They do not happen that often. Even the most boring books can still have something compelling in them. But yesterday I started and finished a book, because honestly, I was bored by the end of page 1. I could not soldier on. The sentences were also way too long, I had no time to breathe, and yes page 1 still! I have no time to force myself to read books anymore, my TBR pile is killing me as it is.
So mention or not?

I think you should, Blodeuedd!I don't do DNF reviews, because how can I reviews something I haven't read from start to finish? but I do mention them on Sunday posts. Maybe you can wait until you have few and do one post on them now and again?
Exactly! And When I give up I give up fast and I can't review 20 pages of 400. That would feel silly.But yes I could mention them in my Sunday Posts 🙂 I just have to remember 😉
I haven't picked this series up yet… for some reason this series is new-to-me… And not I don't know which rock I've been living under. Anyway, I agree with you that I prefer full length books to novellas.DNF books… I have plenty but sometimes I do finish reading them, like, it took me more than two years to read The Good, The Bad And The Undead. Had I posted the review straight away it would have said DNF.
I really need to try this series, I have the two first books but I just need to get into it now.
I think you should definitely discuss DNF books even if you do not rate them! It's valuable info for a potential reader!
Yes I think Discussing DNF books is useful for other readers as long as mention is made as to why it was a dnf. I may still pick up another readers DNF if I feel that the reason won't affect my enjoyment of the book
I like the idea of listing DNFs on your Sunday Post. If someone asks questions you can answer if you want. I don't "review" them because if I don't want to spend more time reading them WHY would I want to spend time reviewing them. That said, it's rare that I DNF a book.
Yeah, reviewing a DNF is like cheating – you can't be 100% sure the rest of book wouldn't appeal to you if you didn't read it. Still you might mention that some novels are simply something you don't/can't read. And move on.

Good points, yes why would I spend that time talking when I do not even want to read.And same here, it takes a lot to dnf a book for me. Even crappy books I can finish. But this one bored me

I loved Devils' Luck. I do wish that he and Fawna got a full story but I think she did pretty good with it. It's hard to let this series go so I take what I can lolI just started DNF books. I never used to be able to. i just HAD to know what happens no matter what but it was ruining reading for me.I have never reviewed a DNF but I wouldn't rule it out. Maybe just a quick note saying why I couldn't finish.
I have to say I hate reviewing novellas – I do review them but it's hard because sometimes the review feels longer than the novella.As for DNF – I need to stop reading books I'm not liking, but I wind up reading everything I start. Life is too short to be doing this to myself especially with my TBR. I like the idea of discussing them in the Sunday post, though.
You should mention DNFs and why – others can decided if the book might work for them, but from a more informed standpoint.

I sometimes review DNFs and sometimes don't. I think it depends how far I've gotten. Do I have enough to say about the book and about why it didn't work for me?
I have only reviewed DNf's once, and I often try to give a book a second chance. Like I have to do with the first book in this series. Something I was waiting for dropped on my doormat, and I dropped that book to grab the new one. Never went back to it, but someday I will. But yes, mention it on your sunday post, and perhaps 20 people say if you really should try again, or not.
If you give up on them quickly, simply mentioning the books on your Sunday post might work. I write DNF reviews for books I've read enough to articulate my reasons for abandoning them and I only rate them if I've read a half or more. Whatever works for you.

If I read that far I will just read the rest. When I give up it's usually before 50, I can't suffer any more than that
Oh I did love seeing these two together. 🙂 The were a nice compliment to each other. As for DNF's, I don't have many either. I always feel I need to finish a book. But I don't usually mention them. I know others have loved the books, and they just aren't for me. But many people do. It's up to you and what you feel comfortable with saying. 🙂
I guess in the end it will just depend on if I remember to post something about it or now 😉 Since I miss a Sunday here and there when catching up on reviews
I think DNF's rate a mention, I'd like to know if you couldn't finish a book. I don't review DNF's but I'm happy to say I haven't had one this year, although I kind of wish the last book I read was a DNF but I didn't know that right til the end lol
